Automatic Water Samplers
Products for mobile and stationary sampling of water, wastewater, stormwater and surface water.
Extended Automatic Water Samplers
Automatic water samplers are self-contained sampling systems that collect representative water or wastewater samples without continuous manual intervention. They are used to build compliant, defensible sampling records and to capture process conditions that may be missed by periodic grab sampling.
Sampling can be configured by time interval, by flow proportion, or by event triggers tied to process conditions. Systems can be set up for discrete bottles or composite sampling, enabling both short-term diagnostics and longer-duration compliance composites that reflect true loading over a reporting period.
Automated sampling improves repeatability and reduces human variability in sample timing, volume, and handling. It also supports consistent chain-of-custody practices, lowers labor demands, and increases confidence that samples reflect actual discharge or treatment performance rather than convenience-based collection.
Typical applications include influent and effluent monitoring at municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, industrial pretreatment and discharge permitting, stormwater and combined-sewer overflow investigations, and watershed monitoring programs. In-plant troubleshooting also benefits, particularly when sample timing must correlate with batch dumps, cleaning cycles, or intermittent upsets.
Practical deployment focuses on sample integrity (including cooling for composites when required), safe and secure installation in exposed locations, and reliable intake routing that avoids clogging and short-circuiting. Many sampling stations are designed to support regulatory compliance expectations while protecting collected composites in the field environment.
